Pete Converter Plugin
WordPress plugin · export to Pete Panel format · free
Point it at any live WordPress site and it packages the whole thing (database, files, uploads, and configuration) into a single Pete Panel export archive. Import that archive into a local dev playground or a production server and the site comes up exactly as it was, ready for an AI agent to work on.

How to use it, start to finish
- Download the plugin: grab site-migration-backup-export-pete-panel.zip using the button above.
- Install & activate on your source site: in that WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip, install, and activate.
- Run the export: open the plugin and start the export. It bundles the database,
wp-contentfiles, uploads, and configuration into a single Pete Panel archive, then downloads it to your machine. - Import into Pete Panel (Pro): in your dev playground or production panel, use the WordPress importer to upload the archive. Pete restores the domain, database, and files in one step.
- Hand it to Claude: the site is now a live Pete Panel playground with real WP-CLI, files, and database, ready for a workflow or a deploy.
Frequently asked questions
Which WordPress sites can it export?
Any self-hosted WordPress site you can install a plugin on: any host, any theme, any page builder. The export captures the database, wp-content, uploads, and configuration, so the site rebuilds faithfully inside Pete Panel.
Where do I import the export archive?
Into a local dev playground on your Mac, or a production server: the same Pete Panel importer handles both.
Does it change my live site?
No. The plugin only reads your site to build the export archive; it makes no changes to the original. Your live site keeps running untouched while you work on the copy inside Pete.
Is it free?
Yes, the Pete Converter Plugin is a free download, and the dev playground is free forever with a fresh site. Bringing your own site in is part of Pro, along with multiple sites, backups, and production.
Got your export? Bring it to Pete.
